Silas Ridgewood a 37 year old man born into a militaristic family. His dad serving in the United States Army, and his brother serving in the United States Air Force. Naturally he believed that this is a path that he should follow he's grown up knowing the lift style of the military. During his teen years his father took him out on hunting trips. These trips taught him extremely valuable lessons of patience, but also persistence. However, the most important skill that would effect his life is his marksmanship skills. Him becoming a skilled rifleman from the age of 15. He continued to go on these hunting trips, learn the skills of tracking, trapping, and foraging. Once he became of age he bolted to the recruiting office, all 6 branches were available for him to enlisted too. Wanting to use his marksmanship skills he spoke to the Marine. Within days he was being shipped off to USMC basic training, and in a handful of years he was enlisted as a professional marksman for the USMC.

Unfortunately however, during a training exercise his rifle miss-fired. Shrapnel from the 7.62 mm round spraying out of the chamber directly making contact with Silas, and his spotter. The two of them received near fatal wounds from this. Though the two did heal Silas received a brain trauma and therefore was medically discharged from the USMC and the military itself. Though his career ended he utilized his skills as a hunter, and continued to go professional with this. However, the lack of career and brain injury left Silas confused and unknowing of his original ways. Overtime his condition worsening SeleneCorp offered him to take part in this "Social Experiment" and in return they'll fix his condition allowing him to return to his hunting or even the USMC.

Character Name: Max "Grim" Muzyka
Occupation: Former British Army Infantryman
Backstory:

Max Muzyka, known as "Grim" by his mates, was a soldier who lived for the camaraderie and structure of military life. A seasoned infantryman with over a decade of service, Max earned his nickname for his unshakable calm under fire and a sharp, sardonic sense of humor. Whether leading a charge or enduring grueling conditions, Grim was the rock his squad depended on.

During joint NATO exercises near Knox County, Max and his unit were tasked with enforcing a quarantine when reports of a violent outbreak surfaced. Initially, it seemed like a routine containment operation, but the situation spiraled out of control as the infected tore through their lines. Civilians begged for help, chaos reigned, and retreat orders came too late to save anyone.

Max stayed behind, defying evacuation orders to protect those he could, rallying a small group of survivors. It wasn’t enough. The infection spread too quickly, and he was left alone, carrying the weight of every lost life. Stranded in an apocalyptic wasteland with nothing but his training and instincts, Max now fights to survive each day while searching for redemption—or a reason to keep going.

Traits: Experienced in combat, resourceful under pressure, and fiercely loyal, but carrying a heavy burden of guilt. Max keeps a weathered photograph of his squad tucked into his pocket, a reminder of the brothers and sisters he couldn’t save. He’s determined to honor their memory by making his survival mean something.

"SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH HOLE"

Specialist John Meyer, 3rd ACR, United States Army.

By all accounts, unremarkable man with not much in terms of distinct personality to speak off. Signed up when he finished his high school, mostly to pay off his Ma' debts and he did it just right in time to serve in Gulf War where he earned his distinction to the Specialist rank where, admitedly he didnt see much combat. Following his deployment he was sent over to Fort Knox as part of the vehicle operations training he signed up for....which he was in the middle of when Knox Event blew up in everyone's face. Naturally worried, about his own safety and of his family back home, he got redeployed to maintain the exclusion zone with the other troops, only to wind up instead deployed into zone proper...

But that's just one story? Maybe he's way higher than that? Maybe he's not even with the Army Mechanized

Azizbek Yusupov is a young male from Navoi, Uzbekistan, just north-west of Sammarkand. Having been one of the lucky few to be selected for and complete the green-card lottery for low-skilled migration to the United States, Azizbek entered the country through what to seemed to him oddly unofficial channels, especially given the bureaucracy that seems a constant obstacle in Central Asia. His handler re-assures him that this is normal, and that the pay is fair and conditions are good. It does not take much of Aziz's intuition to know this is not true, but with aging parents and two children to care for in Navoi, he ultimately accepts his life for hope of a better future.

Aziz speaks very little English, but is incredibly resilient in the face of hardship and possesses a strong will to continue forward. He is very conservative, but generally receptive to outsiders and attempts to be welcoming through his actions, for lack of English words. Life in the United States has been difficult - more so than in Navoi - but Aziz is determined to return home no matter the cost to himself or the dream life he once envisioned.

Sam Livingston was a part time mechanic, however after a long night of partying she signed up for some experimental procedure, and after spotting it on her phones calendar decided to follow through on the mystery procedure....

Age:32

P.O.B: Eureka

Occupation: Boxer

Backstory: Lenny grew up by the coast, a small little beach house he shared with his Mother, Father and older brother Liam. He lived a happy life as a boy, never wanting for anything and feeling loved by his family, his father teaching the boys how to box in the garden after dinner every night. He shared this passion with his father and loved to talk about his day while hitting the old Leather bag hung by chains onto an old tree, his brother quickly fell out with the boxing regiment and focused on his studies wishing to become a Marine biologist. So from the age he could make a fist to his late teens Lenny and his father hit the bag everyday, he would teach him form and technique while they chatted about life and school; when he got to the age they even talked about girls. To Lenny this was therapy, and the moments he held closest to his heart when thinking of his father.

When Lenny turned 17 his father died in a car accident, leaving Lenny crushed and broken he didn't touch the punching bag for months a thick layer of muck and dirt covered its fine leather stitching unsure of his next moves he wallowed in the sadness and refused to leave his room barely eating and sleeping even less. Until looking through his fathers belongings he found his old boxing gloves, brown with black patches over the knuckles he swore he could smell his father on them even if he'd not touched them since he was a teen. Lenny signed up for a boxing gym the next day wearing his fathers gloves, he trained harder then he ever had and got onto a clean and healthy diet. A coach by the name of Sammy "Froggy" Simpson took notice of Lenny and his drive and offered to train him, taking him up on his offer he went everyday to learn from Simpson taking his teachings in stride and improving immensely becoming a fairly large and healthy Light Heavyweight.

At the age of 18 Lenny had his first pro fight against an older veteran of the sport and went down in the second from a kidney shot, weezing on the campus unable to stand the bell rang. Crushed he limped to his changing room and screamed at himself in the mirror swearing to never lose again, which he did many times over his career but he always got back up winning more then he ever lost; trying to become the boxer his father would of been proud of. Having a record of 20-8 at the age of 27 he was never going to be world champion but he made good money and could support himself, but on his 29th fight he got hit by a power shot to the nose and it crumbled under the weight of his opponents fist leaving a flattened and broken mess. Gaining him the nickname "The Nose" even after surgery it never looked or felt right always crunching or moving out of place, he continued to fight but every time his nose would get hit he would feel a strong immense pain. Winning more and losing more he ended his career at 30 with a record of 26-14, a good record by all accounts but not what he expected for his life, always feeling like he let his father down.

But with the end of his career came a new reason to live, he met the love of his life Rachel a beautiful woman who found his nose cute and his past career interesting. She got him work at a lumbermill and let him move in with her when his boxing money dried out, they become the perfect couple getting married a year later. Six months after that she fell pregnant with their child a boy he wanted to call Sammy after his coach, but the work at the mill didn't pay enough and she'd have to quit her job soon so Lenny took the only possible route he could find, which was signing up for clinical trials to test the effects of different drugs on his system being offered cash for it. Thus he ended up in the program lied to and leaving his family behind he had to try and find a way out of this hell hole, find a way home.

Born to two German immigrants in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Monika always had aspirations to be a doctor growing up. She would always pretend to be a doctor and treat her parents. That, combined with her love for animals, led her to become a veterinarian. Although, she does have plenty of hobbies, and enjoys taking things apart to figure out how they work. However, now her mother has something that Monika can't treat; cancer. She wants to help her parents however she can, and so when she heard about SeleneCorp's studies, she signed up.

Oh, how wrong of a decision that was.

Amelia is a 20 year old British Engineering student, currently in university, and working in a restaurant on the side in order to afford the exorbitant cost of living surrounding university life. However, sometimes it's just not enough, so she signed up for a study that seemed benign. Just some corp looking for volunteers to test a new hayfever treatment, no big deal, she thought.

Next thing she knew, she was somewhere completely unfamiliar, feeling like she just got off a two week long bender.

What in the goddamn fuck was in that benadryl?

"The graphics in this thing are pretty good, I'll admit that. But sometimes, it's about pushing the right boundaries, seeing what fits where and what doesn't work. Hell, maybe the fishing mechanics somehow break the construction mechanics entirely. You never know until you try."

A 28 year old woman hailing out of New York, Rachel is a game stress tester by trade. Having sleuthed through plenty of games before, she generally has a knack for finding most of the obvious bugs that titles have before release, though her various NDAs prevent her from going too in depth about some of the projects she's recently worked with. When she saw the advertisement to join the experiment for the fully immersive VR experience as a tester, she felt excited, and signed up as soon as she could. Sure, the pay wasn't as good as it was for other games she could have been working with, but with her expenses seemingly paid off during her time inside, and the opportunity to see just how in depth the world that SeleneCorp created was in an innovative medium, she couldn't resist herself.

Perhaps her hopeful optimism for the experience she was entering into would prove to help keep her sanity in the long term...

Heath is a 6'3 homeless man with a thick brown hairline that has seen it all, and now he is about to see a hell of a lot more. In his early years he was a bright young man, eager to serve his country in the military where he was sent to a logistical support company, not seeing direct combat but was close enough to grow numb to the horrors of war. however after his 8 years of service he went back home, he came home to a sold house and nothing but the clothes on his back. With him unable to find a job in a timely manner, he took to the streets.

After a few years on the street, he then signed up to be a test subject, after all he was promised to get a lot of money for testing this high tech machinery...

David Samuel Egen. A rich kid, wannabe philanthropist and all in all nice guy- or rather that's how he would have liked to have been known.

Born to a wealthy family involved in the sciences and industrial manufacturing, David might have had his future set out for him at birth, provided he simply took up the opportunity. Egen Industries, involved largely in powder metallurgy was an intergenerational project for the family, established as it was by David's grandfather, Samuel. The old man had been a German expatriate with dubious ties to either German nobility, the recently rich or both. A family secret that remained unclear to David himself. Regardless, the old man had been far closer to him than his own father, David Senior, most likely because his father had no humor nor time for the antics that his own son had a habit of getting into.

So when grandpa Samuel tragically died of a heart attack while out in the forest of Alaska, hunting bull Moose, it devastated David. Control of the company, as such passed down a generation, and that made David himself the heir apparent- a fact that did not pass muster with most. After all, the older David was a good man to lead, but his son? No, that simply wouldn't do, at least not anytime soon. As such, David was sent abroad to study the trade, learn his lessons and do away with whatever bits of humanity he had in him beyond the thin veneer required to do business luncheons and cocktail dinners.

David didn't exactly follow through, spending his early twenties partying through Switzerland, France and Germany. When he came back to the States, it was to a morose greeting and strained smiles. Well, David didn't particularly care.

A year or so later, passing through Kentucky, ostensibly to meet up with one of the company's main investors' son, David was brought on to a new business opportunity, one that could get would get him respect as well as money in droves. 'The plan' as David came to call it, on the advice of his newly made drinking buddy, James Harding, was to invest in the growing tech industry around virtual reality- there was a new kid on the block (at least publicly new), SeleneCorp, and they had something *big*. Harding got David a meeting with the leadings scientist, Langford, who eventually agreed to give David a chance to test out the whole damn thing, and when it did impress him, Langford said, David could put his money into it... with promises of at least tripling, if not quadrupling his investment.

In truth, though? David just wanted the opportunity to try out whatever Selene had to throw at him. He'd tried all the drugs, drank expensive booze and anything else his family's money could get him, but this was supposed to be something wholly new, so he couldn't refuse. Besides, if the plan did pan out, and the investment proved opportune, David could even impress his dear old dad and the company board. It seemed like a win-win move all-around.

Well, it seemed like one, at least at first. However, David was a master of making mistakes and reaping the consequences, and this?

This would turn out to be the biggest one of them all.

Anderson is a 27 year old white male, he keeps his hair in a mullet and keeps his beard tidy. He grew up in atlanta and ended up in the APD working hard to rise the ranks and reaching the rank of seargant but he turned to becoming a pilot for the police departments air unit allowing it to assist with his daredevil nature.

He signed up to the event as he believed that it would give more into his daredevil style.

Oliver Connors is a 5' 10'', 30 y/o male of average build with short dark hair. His face says much about his lifestyle with clearly visible eyebags under his eyes just as much as his own personality does.

According to himself, he's uniformed cop from a medium sized city somewhere in Pennsylvania which begs the question of how exactly did he end up here as he doesnt appear to be a test subject, or atleast a willing one at that. In fact he doesnt seems to be aware that he's inside a simulation. Whether its due to horrific idea of not being an actual human but an NPC or just being oblivious is yet to be determined. Nevertheless he does have an interesting tale to say about what happend to him before he got here involving a gruesome murder scene at the local mental hospital and disappearence of all the previous responding officers that he's yet to elaborate on...

Personality wise despite him being an all-around nice and friendly person, Olivier is notably lazy and unmotivated, though not that he minds in any way and is entirely content with spending much of his career as a regular patrolman. Simply put he's a good guy but a lackluster cop with no real ambition of his own, spending the 10 years or so of his career in the police force without any significant achievements to his credit.

"G-guys....Helloo..? Where did you all go to? Where am i..? Oh...Ambulance...right..."

Reginald, oh Reginald. How they laughed at you when you knew. Who's laughing now?

Still not you, Reginald, because you were ready for this, and you know what's at stake.

With thick round glasses and unkempt hair, one must almost assume his looks are a choice with how stereotypical they are.

But looks deceive, and with his heart in the right place, and his head on the moon, he may just prove to be an invaluable asset to our testing.

And if nothing else, at least he'll finally shut up.

A lowly mobster from the streets of rural Italy, hoisted around Europe as a child to do the bidding of his criminal father. Now a grown man, Emilio finds himself capable only of petty theft and financial crime to sustain an uncertain life.

Test subject: SCPN-SU8TX1. A tall and lanky woman with a serious air about her.

31 years old, single, employed by Engineering-X as a software programmer, specialized in banking applications. No academic education past community college. When her sister, Vanessa, isn't currently in the hospital for chemo, she lives with her and their cat named Mr. Bigglesworth in their shared downtown apartment.

Lily signed up for SeleneCorp's array of studies to help finance her sister's leukemia treatments.

Games—and especially "geeks" who gush about them—elicit strong aversion and annoyance from SCPN-SU8TX1. She appears to despise board games in particular. Though initial testing registered her as possessing high levels of patience and problem-solving skill, her envy comes out in competition, and it remains to be seen what role her psychological profile will play in SeleneCorp's Project Nox experiment.

CEO and Founder of SeleneCorp. Nikolai Voss has become widely known over the past six years for his brutally honest and almost apathetic demeanor during media interviews as well as his controversial hiring of Dr. Langford.

Before Selene, Voss was one of the many faceless billionaires of the world - the kind that would show up on The World's Billionaires list, but no one's ever really heard of before. His wealth seems almost as blurry as his past, though if you were to look it up, you'd find that his father had made a fortune selling packing materials of all things.

SeleneCorp first caught media attention shortly after hiring Dr. August Langford, whose controversial book publication had only recently stirred the news cycle.

While there are still some conspiracies on Selene and its "Human Advancement" program, its existence has slowly faded from people's minds as there hasn't been any visible developments since its inception.

The face of SeleneCorp's Science Sector, specifically in charge of the Human Advancement Research Division. Not an easy role to fill.

He may not be the genius scientist the media makes him out to be, but he's got some charm to him. Your grandma certainly thinks highly of him, and that's enough to sway the occasional politician to Selene's side when needed.

Langford's journey began roughly 25 years ago, when he had just finished his studies of psychology and neuroscience. He began writing pieces for various science journals and soon after would be taking up roles as an expert consultant in both True Crime television shows and real life court cases.

In 2018, he published a book on "The Neuroscience of Human Adaptability", which was widely criticized for making bold claims without scientific backing. It did however garner a lot of attention in some online communities.

Voss had found the work "intriguing and just the right amount of rational", and offered him a position to help shape the early stages of Selene.
