Our server is roleplay-enforced. That means everyone must play their character in a manner that reflects them as a real person within the virtual world. Stay in character at all times when communicating in-game. Every action and dialogue should reflect your character's persona, skills, and history.
When posting OOC (out-of-character) messages, use double parentheses, e.g. "(( brb ))". Keep OOC chat to a minimum in game chat as to not disrupt other people's roleplay.
Metagaming is the use of information your character has not obtained legitimately in a way that drives your character's actions. It is not allowed. All information you use ingame must be obtained in roleplay.
Powergaming is the act of abusing game mechanics outside of their intended purpose to gain an unfair advantage over other players. It is not allowed. You must act within the confines that make sense within the game's mechanics, the world's lore and the roleplaying context.
You must be 18 years or older in order to join the server.
In order to keep the game enjoyable and respectful for all players, certain topics and behaviors are prohibited:
This server is a safe space for players of all backgrounds and identities. Be respectful and considerate towards others.
Project Zomboid is not always the most stable game, and perma death can be brutal especially to beginners. To accommodate, we use a staggered system for when perma death is enforced.
You may steal and destroy another character's assets as long as you leave clear traces of your actions, including a descriptive emote (even if no one is around).
Avoid raiding or looting when you know the character's player is offline. If for the purpose of roleplay you are targetting a sleeping character, avoid areas that would likely wake them up (e.g. their bedroom).
Sabotage falls under similar rules as PVP - there must be clear and traceable narrative of intent and reasoning.
Do not set fires in other's homes unless you are in active conflict and a significant number of targeted players are online.
PVP requires a traceable narrative-based reason. There must be an established storyline that others can follow and respond to. Good practices include leaving clues (e.g. notes, diary entries, or self-directed emotes) and setting the scene with an appropriate expression of intent (e.g. expressing anger, displaying bloodlust, an emote of reaching for your weapon, ...). PVP can only proceed once both characters are armed or have had an opportunity to react through other means.
Characters that are created with the intent of killing other players (e.g. serial killers) are not allowed.
You may create a secondary character while your primary character is still alive, provided they do not share the same direct goals. Secondary characters should enhance seasonal narratives and add variety to the world, not serve as tools to advance your other character's agenda.
If a conflict arises involving both characters, choose one to participate and keep the other out of it.
Transferring items between your characters, either directly or indirectly by making use of others, is not allowed.
Your character may use and collect resources only in a manner that is fair and considerate towards other players. Strip-mining or excessive hoarding - such as clearing multiple resource sites in quick succession and stockpiling items beyond what you will reasonably need in the near future - is not allowed.
Maintain a balance between roleplay and gameplay. Make resource gathering a collaborative effort and avoid making significant solo progress to foster teamwork and shared experiences.
Consider fellow players who start out late, or those who have less time to play than yourself. The harder it is for them to get a fair share of resources, the harder and less fun it will be for them to engage with the game, and ultimately harder to engage with you in roleplay.
