This creature is roughly the size of a house cat. It resembles the critter that several people of the Mall witnessed fluttering around one day, only to flee upon Timothy "TnT" Tanem opening fire upon it, and missing his shots.

It is feathered and reptilian, with blue eyes so bright they stop just shy of glowing. While the tips and edges of its feathers are deeply iridescent, the rest of its body has adopted warm hues of copper and rust. Perhaps this is because of its evolution, or because it was hiding in the vents when TnT overheated the Mall's climate controls.

Its mouth features rows of tiny, razor-sharp teeth, but the creature is harmless towards humans. It is likely an omnivore and prefers plants over meat, as it offered dead rodents to the survivors in trade for vegetables.

Sister Maria Celeste found it in the cafe's kitchen and dubbed it "Kitty". The name stuck and the little critter responds to it now.

Initially twitchy and avoidant of humans at first, Sister Maria, Dex, and Tallulah immediately took a liking to the small creature. Kitty quickly warmed to human interaction, and now behaves a lot like any regular pet lizard or cat would. When it isn't hiding in the vents, it tends to spend most of its time in areas where the mysterious blooms have turned the Mall into jungle-like habitats, especially the spot where a raging fire once razed the department store.

Kitty sometimes drops off dead rodents, as if it was trying to help feed its human pets. It is apparently also capable of mimicking human speech, much like a parrot.
