Carl Winters is a a 24 year old young man Combat Engineer with the US Army 1st ECB, B Company. He grew up in Illonois near the great lakes, his childhood was relatively carefree which carried over into his adulthood for better or worse and although he struggled in school with certain subjects, he passed and upon graduation he signed up with the Army as combat engineer, reaching the rank of Private First Class by the time of the mist

Personality wise he's a carefree person, eager to get into the action no matter what it is, especially if it involves explosions which he adores, he just loves the smell of a nice big boom in the morning which is ironic considering he's a bit of pessimist, maybe even a doomer. While there isn't much he dislikes one thing he can't stand are moody slackers, perhaps due to getting chewed up few times in the boot camp for that exactly

Following the so called "Campfire Incident" on 22nd of November, as 4 seperate people witnessed his body turn into a crisp from flames. Couple minutes later Carl would seemingly appear out of thin air behind them, good as new. According to his own claims he went to Hell as he had "enough Sin points" and met the Devil himself, whom he claims is actually very chill person and they played Shadow The Hedgehog together. Despite those outlandish claims when asked how's he back alive he appears to unable to answer beyond that he lost a bet, when inquired further about said bet he seems to unable to remember what sort of bet did he lost, in general since then Winters have occasional memory lapses of new events, implying that side effect of his revival was some form of short term memory loss or impairment.

Whatever may have happend, him suddenly coming back alive certainly grants him some benefit of the doubt.
