A tall, strong, and domineering presence, Jasmine "Jazz" Collins stands out wherever she roams. When her twin brother Jesiah asked her to join their punk rock band Cyclopean Abominations, and act as their vocalist front and center stage, it took little coaxing to convince Jazz to crack her knuckles and scream out Evan's lyrics till ears bled and angels wept. This foul-mouthed 30-year-old hellion is a beacon of attitude and rebellion.
Stranded in Riverside, she was looking far and wide for her other friends from the flophouse and the band. No such luck. All she kept finding were psycho zombies and mutants. Driving across the countryside and slowly cracking from the isolation, she searched for other survivors. When her journey took her through West Point, she found the Valley Station bridge clogged by a colossal amount of abandoned cars. A gray giant stood there with huge, stone fists; a lone guardian, denying her passage. She backed up, floored the gas pedal, and crashed her truck right into the giant. It wasn't even enough to fell the beast. Nearly dying in the collision, she still managed to roll out of the busted cabin, then kick the lumbering brute's head repeatedly till its skull cracked.
After recovering and washing the blood off her leather, she walked to the other end of the bridge, where she found a hotwired jeep. She seized the vehicle and continued north, figuring she might stumble into a refugee camp or military post in Louisville. A trail of bodies drew her attention, suggesting that other survivors may be hidden off the highway, and she followed the corpses all the way to the mall. After circling the structure in the jeep, she banged on the doors, suspecting living people were holed up inside. They opened up. After a short standoff at gunpoint, the mall's denizens admitted her into the fortified structure—immediately recognized by V2, fellow compatriot from the Riverside crew.
Jazz had survived her death march, and she was going to make it everybody's problem.
